IIFM community members highlighted the need for having a dedicated community forum dedicated only for IIFMights, where they can connect, share and discuss a range of topics that they are passionate about. We have several WhatsApp groups, many Facebook and LinkedIn pages, all these greatly serve the purpose of communication but lacks in creating continuous engagement among alumni.
So, we are launching a self-hosted (and powered by Discourse) community forum that aims to be the repository of the knowledge, a private community forum, and a place to get alumni and current students to interact. This is the forum, where we want to create an easy-to-use place for all kinds of alumni-student interactions, student-student interactions on a wide-ranging of topics including job, career guidance, mentorship, IIFM branding, etc. One of the key features of the forum is to have an easy search feature, further, it has no limit on the number of users.
As this forum is built on Discourse (you will be at home if you have used this – it is the go-to-community forum installation used by many corporates and global communities) so you can explore features. Here is a quick guide if you want to explore more (https://meta.discourse.org/t/discourse-new-user-guide/96331) but the forum is very easy and self-intuitive so let’s try! See the features list here https://www.discourse.org/features
You can login to the forum using your Google id, Twitter, and Linkedin logins and participate in the ongoing discussions. The login is used to authorize the user but we do not have access to any of your credentials.
We would also like you to be one of the moderators and champions who can trigger more participation and engagement among the batchmates alumni through active participation.
Please drop a line at [email protected] if you need any help. Would be glad to assist.
